APS5 Data and Reporting Analyst

- Employment Type: Full-time hours (hybrid working) until 31st December 2026 with stronog potential for extension.

About the Opportunity
Do you love diving into data, uncovering trends, and translating complex numbers into meaningful stories?
As an APS5 Data and Reporting Analyst within the Performance, Quality and National Workload Management Branch, you will play a vital role in helping the organisation understand its work. Your analysis and reports will directly inform timely operational decisions, helping them improve services for NDIS participants, staff, and providers across Australia.
Working under limited supervision, you will provide technical and operational support, identify emerging risks, and collaborate with teams across the agency to build effective, data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data & Reporting: Extract, manipulate, and validate complex data sets to produce high-quality, accurate reports and dashboards.
- Insight Generation: Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights, effectively communicating findings to diverse audiences.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal business users to elicit and analyze their reporting requirements and translate them into practical data outputs.
- Process Improvement: Show initiative by identifying ways to enhance data quality, reporting tools, and methodologies.
- Project Support: Assist with project coordination, including planning, tracking progress, and measuring project outcomes.
What We Are Looking For (Key Selection Criteria)
- Technical Excel Expertise: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including Power Query, pivot tables, advanced charting, and complex formulas).
- Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to interpret complex data, maintain high attention to detail, and ensure absolute data integrity.
- Strong Communication: The ability to present complex data in a clear, concise, and visually engaging manner to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and consult effectively with various teams.
- Adaptability & Drive: A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Desirable Extras
- Experience supporting project delivery (planning, tracking, and outcome measurement).
- Experience eliciting and analyzing business requirements specifically for data and reporting needs.
